De Volksbank is a Dutch retail bank wholly owned by the Dutch State through the foundation NLFI, following the 2013 nationalisation of its predecessor SNS REAAL after losses at its property finance unit. For over a decade the bank operated multiple retail brands, SNS, ASN Bank and RegioBank, alongside mortgage label BLG Wonen, each with its own positioning but sharing one balance sheet. From 2025 the bank has been consolidating these brands into a single one, ASN Bank, known for its focus on sustainable and socially responsible banking, and its legal name changed accordingly.
