Loyens & Loeff was formed on 1 January 2000 through a merger between the Dutch tax firm Loyens & Volkmaars and part of the Belgian firm Loeff Claeys Verbeke. The combination of integrated legal and tax advice became the firm's signature, and it built what is generally regarded as the largest tax practice of any law firm in Europe, alongside a full-service legal practice.Loyens & Loeff ontstond op 1 januari 2000 uit een fusie tussen het Nederlandse fiscale kantoor Loyens & Volkmaars en een deel van het Belgische kantoor Loeff Claeys Verbeke. De combinatie van geïntegreerd juridisch en fiscaal advies werd het handelsmerk van het kantoor, dat wat algemeen wordt gezien als de grootste fiscale praktijk van alle advocatenkantoren in Europa opbouwde, naast een full-service juridische praktijk.
