What APG does

APG is a Dutch pension executor that combines pension administration and asset management on behalf of pension funds. It was established in 2008 as the executive organisation of Stichting Pensioenfonds ABP, the pension fund for Dutch government and education employees and the largest pension fund in the Netherlands, and later that year merged with Cordares, which administered pensions for the construction sector fund bpfBOUW. APG remains a direct subsidiary of ABP and is one of the largest pension asset managers in the world, investing pension contributions across equities, fixed income, real estate, infrastructure and other asset classes. APG has announced plans to focus its asset management activities exclusively on ABP over time, while continuing pension administration for several funds.

Given its scale and the breadth of its investment mandate, APG is one of the most significant employers in Dutch institutional asset management and pension administration, and a well-known destination for finance graduates interested in long-horizon institutional investing.
