The organisation
What Da Vinci Trading does
Da Vinci Trading, formerly known as Da Vinci Derivatives, is a proprietary trading firm founded in Amsterdam in 2015. It combines market making, continuously quoting buy and sell prices in options and futures on European and US exchanges, with position taking, where the firm takes calculated directional views based on its own research. Compared with older Amsterdam trading houses, Da Vinci is a relatively young firm, and it has expanded beyond traditional listed derivatives into digital assets, including acting as a designated market maker on crypto exchanges. It remains privately owned and has grown from its Amsterdam base into additional offices abroad.

Da Vinci Trading in the Netherlands
Da Vinci was founded in Amsterdam and is still headquartered there, making it one of several Amsterdam-born prop trading firms alongside IMC, Optiver and Flow Traders, all part of a trading culture that traces back to the city's historic options exchange floor. Although younger than those firms, Da Vinci fits the same mould: technology-driven market making built by traders with floor and exchange experience. For students, its Amsterdam office is the centre of its trading and research activity.
Structure
Divisions and where you work
The firm is built around trading teams that manage market making and position taking, supported by quantitative research and a technology function that develops the trading infrastructure. Graduates typically join as traders or in quant/technology roles, working alongside experienced traders early on.
Getting in
How students start here
Da Vinci recruits through internships and graduate programmes for trading and quantitative/technology roles. As with peer firms, the process is selective and leans heavily on numerical and analytical tests, so quantitative skill generally counts for more than a specific field of study.
