The organisation
What ING does
ING is one of the Netherlands' largest financial institutions, offering retail banking, business banking and wholesale banking services. It was formed in 1991 through the merger of insurer Nationale-Nederlanden and NMB Postbank Group, combining banking and insurance activities under one holding company. ING later divested its insurance arm to focus purely on banking. The bank serves millions of customers across the Netherlands and operates in dozens of countries, with a large presence in retail banking, corporate lending, and financial markets. ING is listed on Euronext Amsterdam and is considered a systemically important bank in Europe.
