What A&O Shearman does
The Dutch practice traces back to Loeff Claeys Verbeke, founded in 1854, part of which joined the English firm Allen & Overy in 2000, the first Dutch firm to merge with an international law firm. In 2023 Allen & Overy agreed to merge with Shearman & Sterling, forming A&O Shearman, one of the largest law firms in the world by lawyer count.
